Where do I Begin with Getting Ready?
It is important to know your date, location, the ceremony you envisage and to check those details with your celebrant to ensure their availability for your day.
We will then meet up to have the opportunity of answering all your need to know questions to have the perfect day. At this meeting you will need to bring original documentation including:
- Birth Certificates
- Driver’s licence or Passport (photo ID)
- Evidence of name changes since birth
- Evidence of divorce or death of a party’s former spouse
Initially, we have to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form (‘the Notice’) and the Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage (Declaration).
I will also give you a wonderful brochure “Happily Ever … Before and After” which is given to all couples getting married and has excellent advice for you.
The Notice of Intended Marriage form is to be completed as soon as you book your intended wedding with me. This form can be completed at least one calendar month before your wedding date and no earlier than 18 months prior to your intended wedding.
The Declaration will usually be signed off at your wedding rehearsal (or definitely before the wedding ceremony). This document will confirm that the information already given is current and accurate.
